Milk St. Storage Terms

Milk St. Studios offers monthly storage as a convenience for members and approved studio users. Storage is intended for music-related gear only and is billed monthly through Square. These terms help us keep the storage area safe, organized, and fair for everyone using the studio.

By starting or continuing a monthly storage subscription, you agree to the following storage terms. These terms apply to all lockers, half-lockers, cubbies, shelves, and any other storage options offered by Milk St. Studios.

Milk St. Studios may update, adjust, pause, or discontinue storage options as needed for studio operations, safety, construction, demand, or general business needs.

1. Storage Use

Storage is intended for musical instruments, amps, pedals, stands, cases, cables, and other music-related gear. Milk St. Studios may approve or deny storage of any item at its discretion.

Storage may not be used for food, beverages, liquids, hazardous materials, flammable items, illegal items, weapons, trash, household storage, business inventory, wet or moldy items, pest-attracting items, or anything that may create odor, moisture, pests, damage, safety concerns, disruption, or risk to the building, studio users, staff, or other stored property.

Milk St. Studios reserves the right to require removal of any item it determines to be unsafe, inappropriate, improperly stored, oversized, disruptive, or outside the intended use of the storage program.

2. Storage Options and Rates

Current storage options may include:

Full Locker: $100/month
Half Locker: $50/month
Cubby Storage: $20/month

Storage options, sizes, availability, rates, and access rules may change over time. Rates are subject to change with advance notice when possible.

Certain storage options, discounted rates, or continued access may require an active Milk St. Studios membership.

3. Square Subscription Payments

Storage is billed monthly through Square as an automatic subscription payment.

By starting a storage subscription, the user authorizes Milk St. Studios to charge the payment method on file each month for the assigned storage option. The user is responsible for keeping an active and valid payment method on file.

If payment fails, Milk St. Studios may restrict access to the storage area until payment is successfully collected.

If payment remains unpaid for more than 14 days, Milk St. Studios may suspend or terminate the storage subscription and require the user to remove their items.

Subscription payments continue until storage is cancelled in writing and the assigned storage space has been fully cleared. No refunds are guaranteed for partial months unless approved by Milk St. Studios.

4. Month-to-Month Storage

Storage is offered month-to-month unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Either the user or Milk St. Studios may cancel, pause, reassign, or end storage access with written notice.

The user is responsible for removing all items by the agreed move-out date. Cancelling the Square subscription does not remove responsibility for unpaid balances, damage fees, or items left behind.

Milk St. Studios may terminate storage privileges at any time for non-payment, misuse, unsafe storage, violation of studio rules, operational needs, building needs, or any situation that affects the safety, security, or smooth operation of the studio.

5. Access and Security

Storage access is available during normal studio access hours or by arrangement with Milk St. Studios staff. Access hours and procedures may change as needed.

Users may only access their assigned storage space. Users may not open, move, borrow, use, tamper with, or remove any other person’s gear, property, lock, locker, cubby, shelf, or storage area.

Users are responsible for securing their assigned storage space. Milk St. Studios may provide a lock, require a studio-approved lock, or require access information for emergency, safety, maintenance, or abandoned property situations.

Milk St. Studios reserves the right to access storage spaces when necessary for emergency, safety, suspected rule violation, maintenance, pest control, building needs, unpaid balances, abandoned property, or general studio operations. Reasonable notice will be provided when possible.

6. Condition of Stored Items

All stored items must be clean, dry, safe, and appropriate for storage. Gear should be placed in cases, bags, bins, or protective coverings when appropriate.

Items may not be stored in walkways, common areas, rehearsal rooms, lounge areas, entrances, exits, stairways, or anywhere outside the assigned storage space unless approved by Milk St. Studios.

Milk St. Studios may require users to reorganize, reduce, relocate, or remove stored items if the storage space becomes unsafe, overcrowded, difficult to manage, or inconsistent with studio needs.

7. Liability and Insurance

Stored property is not insured by Milk St. Studios. Users are responsible for insuring their own instruments, equipment, and personal property.

Storage is provided as a convenience. Items are stored at the user’s own risk.

Milk St. Studios is not responsible for loss, theft, damage, breakage, fire, flood, water damage, humidity, temperature changes, power outages, building issues, pest issues, accidental damage, or other damage to stored items, except where caused by Milk St. Studios’ gross negligence, willful misconduct, or as otherwise required by law.

Users are encouraged to carry their own insurance for valuable instruments, amps, recording equipment, and other gear.

Milk St. Studios may require users to remove items of unusually high value, unusual size, or unusual risk.

8. Unpaid Balances and Abandoned Property

If a storage account is unpaid, cancelled, inactive, terminated, or otherwise no longer approved, and the user does not remove their items after written notice, Milk St. Studios may consider the items abandoned.

Milk St. Studios will make reasonable attempts to contact the user using the contact information on file.

Milk St. Studios may remove, relocate, dispose of, donate, or sell abandoned property only after proper notice and in accordance with applicable law.

Any unpaid balance, storage costs, labor, disposal costs, repair costs, collection costs, or other related expenses may remain the responsibility of the user.

Milk St. Studios may have a lien on stored property for unpaid rent, fees, damage, labor, or other charges as allowed by applicable law.

9. Damage, Misuse, and Studio Property

Users are responsible for any damage they cause to lockers, cubbies, shelving, doors, locks, walls, floors, studio equipment, building systems, or other studio property.

Users may not modify, paint, drill into, attach hardware to, overload, force open, or alter any storage structure without written approval from Milk St. Studios.

Milk St. Studios may charge repair, cleaning, replacement, or labor fees for damage caused by misuse, negligence, improper storage, forced entry, unauthorized modification, or failure to follow studio policies.

10. Assignment and Reassignment of Storage

Storage spaces are assigned by Milk St. Studios based on availability, fit, and studio needs.

Users may not switch spaces, sublet, share, transfer, lend, or give access to another person without written approval.

Milk St. Studios may reassign, relocate, resize, consolidate, or change storage spaces if needed for studio operations, maintenance, construction, safety, organization, demand, or program changes. Reasonable notice will be provided when possible.

11. Studio Rules

All Milk St. Studios house rules, membership terms, booking policies, event policies, and code of conduct apply while using storage.

Storage access does not grant unlimited access to rehearsal rooms, lounge areas, private events, staff areas, equipment, or other parts of the studio outside normal approved use.

Storage privileges may be revoked if a user fails to pay, violates studio policies, misuses the space, stores prohibited items, creates a safety or security issue, or interferes with other members, staff, guests, property, or studio operations.

12. Updates to Storage Terms

Milk St. Studios may update these storage terms at any time as the storage program, studio operations, building needs, or policies evolve.

Users will be notified of major changes when possible. Continued use of storage after notice or after updated terms are posted means the user accepts the updated terms.
