Parish Dawe,
Audio Engineer
I’ve always found myself gravitating towards music. When I was 10 I began to compose and record music in Garageband, creating loop based songs eventually evolving into orchestral mockups that got popular in the “wild west” days of Youtube. I decided at 15 to dedicate my life to being surrounded by music in some way or another. I had developed something of a quiver when I entered college at Plymouth State University for Music Tech; I was playing piano, drums, and often guitar. While at PSU I composed multiple pieces that were performed by ensembles while recording my friends in what free time I had.
Once I graduated in 2021 I left my “normal” job and immersed myself in live sound, mixing in venues all over New England. This experience reinforced studio knowledge that eventually led me to produce music at home with musicians all over NH. I was given the opportunity to take this knowledge back to my alma mater, designing the initial coursework for PSU’s new Digital Music Production & Entrepreneurship program. During this time I began writing, recording, and releasing my own music as well.
I’ve always loved getting manically granular with sound in order to serve a song. The ability for each song to have a distinct feel and energy has been a point of interest to me ever since I was 10 and dropping apple loops on a timeline. I love when a song says what the lyrics do, even without them present; it’s a level of synergy that I aspire to whenever I am working with an artist. This synergy, guidance, and “serve the song” mentality has been a hallmark of why artists have sought me out to help give audible life to their musical story.
Today I can be found recording and producing at Milk St, managing the recording studio at Plymouth State, mixing concerts all over New England, or performing locally with the band Congregation X.
